Here at The Hangar, we're all about entertaining you, while you drink! That's why, we are now offering complimentary adult coloring books on all of our tables in the bar.
Not only is coloring fun, it's relaxing. Coloring can relieve feelings of stress, depression, and even anxiety. We're totally serious.
In fact, a recent article published by Kelly Fitzpatrick on CNN.com, titled Why adult coloring books are good for you, reports that research performed in 2005 proved anxiety levels dropped when subjects colored mandalas, or round frames with geometric patterns inside. Conversely, simple doodling had no effect in reducing the other subjects' stress levels.
The article even quotes Marygrace Berberian, a certified art therapist and the Clinical Assistant Professor and Program Coordinator for the Graduate Art Therapy Program at NYU, saying that while coloring is not exactly "art therapy," coloring itself "...has therapeutic potential to reduce anxiety, create focus or bring [about] more mindfulness."
Since we've put out the coloring books, we've found that people REALLY love them -- and we REALLY love the creativeness that comes flowing out of our patrons.
So, we've decided that we're going to reward our customers who color with us with the opportunity to win a $25 gift certificate each week.
Wanna enter? All you gotta do is swing by, color a pic of your own & turn it into the bartender for your chance to win.
